FA Girls' Week Captures The Euro Theme
This is a national campaign aimed at raising the profile of female football and supporting the aim of doubling the number of women and girls playing football by 2020.
This year FA Girls’ Football Week will run between July 16th and August 6th to coincide with England’s involvement in Euro 2017.
It will be an opportunity to support the Lionesses’ Euro campaign and get even more girls playing football this summer.
During FA Girls’ Football Week the whole country gears up to encourage football activities for girls which can include playing, training or even just learning more about the beautiful game.
Clubs and organisations are encouraged to register any on-going activities as part of the week, or to start something brand new to kick-start girls’ football.
The week is a great opportunity to showcase female football at every level and inspire new players and volunteers.
In Suffolk, there are a number of activities taking place, with SSE Wildcats sessions taking place in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Ipswich and Lowestoft.
This period also sees the final trials for both the Suffolk Girls’ ACC and GDC programmes and the Suffolk Schools’ Under-14 & Under-16 Representative squads.
There will also be a strong female presence at the Ipswich Town Open Day at Portman Road on Thursday, July 27th, where Suffolk FA will deliver a Girls’ Under-8 to Under-10 4v4 festival.
Keep up-to-date with what is happening in the county throughout FA Girls’ Football Week via the Suffolk FA social media channels.
