Turners Hyundai to sponsor Premier Cup
ESTABLISHED car dealer Turner Motor Group are to sponsor the Suffolk Premier Cup for the next two seasons.
The competition is played for by the highest-ranked clubs – those currently playing at Steps 3, 4 and 5 in the county – and will be known as the Turners Hyundai Suffolk Premier Cup.
Turners Hyundai are a family-run business who have new and used car showrooms in both Tayfen Road in Bury St Edmunds and Ransomes Way in Ipswich.
Franchise Manager Nathan Ramsey, who is pictured above right with Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal, said: “Being a family owned company from Suffolk, we really enjoy supporting the local sporting community.
“We’re very active in a number of clubs around the county across a wide range of sports but the opportunity to support what is arguably the highest-profile sporting competition in Suffolk is really exciting.”

Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal said: “Since 1965, Turner Motor Group have been renowned for quality products and customer experience. In partnership, our aim is to further raise the profile and experience of competing in the Suffolk Premier Cup.
“This season, 17 teams will be hoping to ultimately lift the coveted trophy in May. For those teams drawn to play in the first round, the road to the final starts on September 17th/18th.”
The competition, which was first played for in the 1958-59 season, when Bury Town beat Long Melford 2-1 in the final, has a rich history. Leiston, who had never previously won the cup, are the current holders, after successfully defending the trophy last season.
The draw for the first and second rounds of this season’s competition will be broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk between 5.30pm and 6pm on the Saturday afternoon sports programme.
