Lowestoft Reserves reach the last eight
LOWESTOFT Town Reserves turned on the style to reach the quarter-finals of this season’s Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup.
The Trawlerboys, who won the cup in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons before then not running a Reserve side for several years, were 6-0 winners at home to Woodbridge Town in one of the five third-round ties to take place on Saturday.
There were big away wins for Framlingham Town U23s (5-0 at East Bergholt United Reserves) and Brantham Athletic U23s (5-0 at Waveney Reserves) while a solitary goal was enough for Mutford & Wrentham Reserves to see off Long Melford U23s.

There will no cup final this season for Stowmarket Town U23s. Last season’s winners, who have appeared in five of the last eight finals, went down 4-2 away to Halesworth Town Reserves.
The draw for the quarter-finals will take place later this week.
Ipswich Wanderers Development side became the first team to book their place in the draw for the quarter-finals of this season’s Parkers Pitches Suffolk Junior Cup, after winning 3-1 at home to Framlingham Town ‘A’ in their third-round tie.
There were some high-scoring games in the third round of this season’s Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy.
A total of 17 goals were scored in the tie between Felixstowe Wanderers and Phoenix, with Wanderers netting 14 of them.
Barton Mills, last season’s losing finalists, put eleven goals pat Playford without reply, while Northam Celtic enjoyed a 7-2 success at home to Foxhall United.
