ITFC to host event for groundskeepers
SUFFOLK FA are holding a Grounds Event for groundskeepers in Suffolk.
The event, which is free to attend, is being held in conjunction with Ipswich Town FC and will take place at the Ipswich Town Training Ground on Friday, March 8th from 2pm-5pm.
Ben Connell, who is Grounds Manager at Ipswich Town FC, has kindly agreed to host the afternoon at Playford Road.
The afternoon will include a tour of the Training Ground while Suffolk FA partners will provide either outdoor practical demonstrations or indoor classroom session.
Partners to confirm their attendance are British Sugar TOPSOIL, the GMA, GroundTech, Jacobsen, MH Goals, Parkers Pitches and Replay Maintenance.
Ben Connell (pictured above) said: “I look forward to welcoming fellow grounds teams to the training ground to be able to network and learn from each other.
“We have had many successful meetings like this before and I am excited with the prospect of building a strong grounds community within the county with the help of the Suffolk FA and partners.”
Suffolk FA Football Development Manager Matt Stebbings said: “This is a great opportunity for local grounds teams to come see how the professionals do it.
“A huge thank you to Ben and ITFC for being able to host this event. It will also give grounds teams the opportunity to chat to our local partners to how to get the best out of your 3G and grass pitches.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Suffolk to benefit from the knowledge at ITFC and our partners. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as we can.”
