THE two 2020-21 finalists have progressed to the second round of this season’s McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup.

Bramford United, who lifted the trophy that season, were 4-2 winners at Mendlesham in one of 15 first-round ties played on Saturday.

Laxfield United, who they defeated in the final four years ago, were 5-2 winners at home to AFC Oulton Reserves.

They will be joined in the second round by 2010-11 winners Benhall St Mary, who were 2-1 winners at home to Waveney ‘A’.

Two sides netted double figures – Oulton Utd won 26-0 against Pakefield Dynamos Development, while Witnesham Wasps won 10-1 versus Hawthorn United. Hadleigh United Brettsiders returned from Capel Plough Reserves 8-1 winners.

There were ten goals in the game between Hope Church and Samuels, who went through 6-4, while Beccles Town ‘A’  won 5-4 at Kessingland Reserves.

The draw for the second round will be announced on the Suffolk FA website and social media at 5pm on Tuesday.

County cup action continues on Tuesday with one tie in the Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup as Hadleigh United Reserves host Debenham LC Reserves on Tuesday.

On the same evening the first match take place in this season’s Veo Suffolk U18 Midweek Cup with a further six games on Thursday.
