2025 Football v Homophobia (FvH)
THE 2025 Football v Homophobia (FvH) ‘Month of Action’ is taking place next month.
The’ Month of Action’ aims to highlight the initiative where clubs pledge to take action to tackle LGBTQ+ discrimination and to promote inclusion in grassroots football.
With reports of anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination rising, Suffolk FA are asking clubs, leagues and organisations to clearly activate our campaign messaging throughout the month with the support of grassroots clubs.
It's simple to register - clubs and leagues receive a campaign pack and are added to our FvH Champions page and map.
Clubs can get involved with the campaign by designating a matchday to Football v Homophobia, sharing details of the event across social media using the #FvH2025 hashtag and communicating the activity to the opposing team on match day. In return, clubs can receive:
• A FREE campaign pack giving them ideas for making the most of the designated game
• FREE leaflets to distribute to players
• FREE ACCESS to our grassroots online workshop
• DISCOUNTED captain’s armband & flag
Suffolk FA Football Development Officer Kirsty Smith said: “Football is for everyone and as a County FA we want to encourage clubs within the county to make existing football structures safe, welcoming and inclusive for LGBTQ+ people.
“Improving the representation and visibility of LGBTQ+ people throughout football and to create opportunities and promote engagement of LGBTQ+ people in football at all levels and in all forms is important.
“We want to create change across society and football is a powerful tool which can help implement this. Supporting Football versus Homophobia’s ‘Month of Action’ is a commitment to tackling discrimination, creating a positive environment where everyone feels free to be themselves and included.”
