Funeral details for Brian announced
DETAILS have been confirmed for the funeral of former Suffolk FA Honorary Life Vice President Brian Gower.
His funeral will be held at 3pm on Friday, January 31st at Waveney Memorial Park and Crematorium, Warrens Lane, Benacre Road, Ellough NR34 7XE.
Brian, who was the driving force behind Bungay Town FC for 30 years, passed away just after Christmas at the age of 79.
He first became a Suffolk FA Council Member in 1988-89 as the representative for Bungay Town and remained as a Suffolk FA Council Member after stepping down as Secretary of Bungay Town FC in 2010 after 28 years in the role.
Brian, who also served as a Discipline Commissioner for Suffolk FA, became a Life Member and Honorary Life Vice President.
He was also a Committee Member for the Lowestoft & District Football League, the Norfolk & Suffolk Youth Football League and the Anglian Combination Football League.
Clubs competing in the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup and Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup ties on Saturday, February 1st will be asked to observe a minute’s silence in memory of Brian.
A Tribute Page in his memory has been set up to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK and Brain Tumour Research for anyone wishing to make a donation and also leave a message for the family.
