Two Sudbury sides in Women's semi-finals
THE four semi-finalists in this season’s MH Goals Suffolk Women’s Cup are now confirmed.
AFC Sudbury, Bungay Town, Needham Market and Sudbury Sports are the four teams who will contest the semi-finals following Sunday’s last-eight ties.
Holders AFC Sudbury breezed into the last four courtesy of a 12-0 win at Waveney and Sudbury Sports, who are effectively AFC Sudbury’s Reserve side, were 5-1 winners at AFC Kesgrave.
The two Sudbury sides will be joined by Needham Market, who scored seven times without reply at Beccles Town, and Bungay Town, who Needham defeated in the 2022-23 final. They won 3-2 in the third round at Woolverstone on Saturday to reach the quarter-finals, where they will now be away to Beccles Caxton, who were 4-0 winners at home to Exning United.
The third re-arranged tie saw AFC Kesgrave win 2-1 at Redgrave Rangers and they will now host Capel Plough in the last eight.
Bury Town will be away to Kedington in the quarter-finals of the Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup after Kedington won their re-arranged second round match at Mildenhall Town 7-5 on Sunday afternoon.
