Cup draws to be on BBC Radio Suffolk
THE first-round draws for this season’s Suffolk Premier Cup and the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup will be broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk on Saturday afternoon.
The draws will be announced during the station’s Matchday programme from 5.30pm onwards.
The first-round draw for this season’s Suffolk Premier Cup will feature 18 teams from across the county.
Included in the draw for the first time will be Framlingham Town, following their promotion to the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division at the end of last season.
They will be joined by Woodbridge Town and Whitton United, who were also promoted last season but have previously both played in the Premier Cup.
An Ipswich Town XI will take part in the competition this season, as opposed to the club entering an Under-18 side in the last couple of seasons.
A total of 30 teams will be in the hat for the first-round draw for the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup.
This will include newcomers Felixstowe & Walton United Reserves, who have this season joined the Thurlow Nunn League First Division, and Trimley Red Devils, last season’s Suffolk Junior Cup runners-up, who won promotion to the Touchline SIL Senior Division last season.
Claydon, who also won promotion but have previously played in the competition, return as do Haverhill Borough and Ipswich Wanderers, who were both relegated from the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division last season.
