Kirkley bid to stop AFC Sudbury U18s
KIRKLEY & Pakefield will be the latest side to attempt to stop AFC Sudbury’s monopoly of the Suffolk FA Boys’ Under-18 Midweek Cup.
AFC Sudbury, who have won the competition in each of the last three seasons, have been drawn away to Kirkley & Pakefield in this season’s quarter-finals.
The two clubs met in last season’s semi-finals, with AFC Sudbury winning 3-1 on that occasion. AFC Sudbury (yellow shirts) are pictured in action in last season’s final in which they beat Bury Town (blue shirts) 3-1 at Colchester United FC.
Haverhill Rovers, who lost 3-1 on penalties to Kirkley & Pakefield following a 3-3 draw at the quarter-final stage, will be aiming to go at least one step further when they entertain Mildenhall Town.
Felixstowe & Walton United, who also bowed out of last season’s competition 7-6 in a penalty shoot-out after a 2-2 draw with eventual runners-up Bury Town, travel to Framlingham Town.
The remaining last-eight tie sees Needham Market play host to Walsham-le-Willows, the 2017 losing finalists.
