Former winners are to meet in cup final
TWO former winners will meet in this season’s Days Sports Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup Final.
Stowmarket Town, the 2017 winners, will face Walsham-le-Willows, who won the competition in 2014, in the final at Leiston FC on Tuesday, April 23rd, kick-off 7.30pm.
The Old Gold & Blacks won 5-2 against Touchline SIL League A leaders Trimley Red Devils, who had led 1-0, at Ipswich Wanderers FC to reach their third successive final.
Stowmarket, who have already clinched this season’s Thurlow Nunn Reserve League title, are now 90 minutes away from completing a league and cup double.
Walsham, who like Stowmarket play in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League, had to come from behind to overcome Touchline SIL League A opponents Framlingham Town 3-2 in the other semi-final at Beccles Town FC.
