Wanderers stand in Cornard's cup path
THURLOW Nunn League First Division North sides Cornard United and Ipswich Wanderers have been paired together in the semi-finals of this season’s CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup.
Wanderers, who last lifted the cup in 2013, will face Cornard, whose last appearance in the final resulted in a 1-0 win over near neighbours Sudbury Wanderers 30 years ago.
The tie will take place at Hadleigh United’s Millfield ground on Friday, April 5th, kick-off 7.45pm.
On the same evening Touchline SIL rivals Achilles and Henley Athletic will meet in the other semi-final at Felixstowe & Walton United’s Goldstar Ground, also 7.45pm kick-off.
Henley, who will be playing in their first Senior Cup semi-final, and 2017 winners Achilles are rivals for this season’s Senior Division title as well as both still in the Bob Coleman Cup.
The draw was broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Final Whistle programme on Saturday, just after Henley Athletic had won 3-0 at Achilles in the Senior Division.
