SUFFOLK County Cup action returns this weekend with the first of this season’s quarter-finals.

The spotlight falls on the Suffolk Sunday Cup with the stand-out tie between the holders Kitchener Taverners and Tostock Pirates, the 2016 winners.

Taverners currently top the Premier Division of the Ipswich Sunday Football League, while Tostock lead the way in Division One of the Bury & District Sunday League.

There’s also a tasty tie as Felixstowe Harpers, fifth in the ISFL, entertain Gym United, second in the BDSL and winners of this competition in both 2014 and 2015.

The third match-up is an all-BDSL affair as Horringer Social Club (3rd) face Howards (4th), while the fourth and final quarter-final sees Mellis take on Borussia Martlesham.

Mellis, four times runners-up in the Suffolk Sunday Cup including in each of the last two seasons, will be at home against the second-placed ISFL side.

A total of 22 quarter-final ties are scheduled across six Youth competitions – 20 in the Crown Imperial Boys’ Youth Cups from Under-12 to Under-16s and also two in the Suffolk Boys’ Under-18 Sunday Cup.
