England Disability Talent Day details
SUFFOLK FA will be delivering their first-ever England Disability Talent Day.
This will focus on the identifying and developing the Youth players in the county who are eligible for the England Talent Pathway.
The talent day is open to both male and female players. The details for the talent day are as follows:
Date: Saturday, July 13th
Venue: Copleston High School, Ipswich, IP4 5HD
Timings: 11am-1pm
Cost: Free
Ages: Split in to 2 age groups, 7-11 & 12-16
England Talent Day
The England Talent Day is the first step of the England Talent Pathway for players with a disability. It will allow coaching staff and an FA Talent Selection Officer to identify and signpost players to the appropriate football environment, as well as identifying players with the potential to progress in the England Talent Pathway. The current pathways open to players are:
- Amputee
- Blind
- Cerebral Palsy
- Deaf
- Partially Sighted
In preparation for the England Disability Talent ID recruitment day, Suffolk Football Association will be hosting an England Talent ID Workshop in partnership with the England Talent ID team at Inspire Suffolk in Ipswich on Wednesday, July 10th.
England Disability Talent ID Workshop
As part of the England Talent ID Strategy, the Talent ID workshop forms part of the recruitment and identification of players within both mainstream and pan disability football teams.
The workshop is designed to provide information for parents, coaches and volunteers to identify potential players who would benefit and be eligible for the England Talent Pathway.
There are an estimated 6 per cent of players within mainstream leagues that are eligible for an England Disability Team.
The workshop will cover the following:
- Player pathway
- Age, stage and classification
- Eligibility and classification
- Recognise talent/potential
- International game format
- Referral process
- What can you do to help?
- Action planning

This is a fantastic opportunity for young players with a disability to receive support to find the appropriate grassroots environment and potentially access an elite programme of football.
