Senior Reserve Cup trophy

Claydon, Hadleigh hit double figures

TWO teams hit double figures in the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup first round.

TWO teams hit double figures in the first round of the Days Sports Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup.

Claydon won 11-0 at home to Bramford United while Hadleigh United beat near-neighbours Bildeston Rangers 10-0 on Saturday to reach round two.

There were also ten goals in the Coplestonians versus Crane Sports match, with Cops finding the back of the net eight times.

Only one of the ten scheduled ties went to penalties, with Trimley Red Devils prevailing 4-2 following a 2-2 draw with Henley Athletic.

The second-round draw will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 5pm on Tuesday.

The sole Suffolk Sunday Cup tie due to take place on Sunday between Tostock Pirates and Wetherden was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The wet weather played havoc with Sunday’s scheduled fixtures in the Suffolk Veterans’ Cup.

A total of 13 of the 20 first-round ties were called off and these will now be played on Sunday, November 3rd, which was originally the date for the second round.

This means that the second-round draw has been postponed until after that date, with the second round now re-arranged for Sunday, November 24th which was the original date for the third round.

Of the six matches that did go ahead, two went to penalty shoot-outs, with Barham Athletic winning 6-5 and Witnesham Wasps 5-4 after 3-3 draws with Stoke By Nayland and Ipswich Revolution respectively.

ETC Lowestoft were 10-1 winners at St Clements Hospital, while Trimley Sports & Social Club beat their own Reserve team 5-1.
