COCKFIELD United are the winners of our first aid goodie bag competition.

They were picked out of the hat as the winners of a Koolpak goodie bag worth £100.

Koolpak, who are our first aid supplies partner, offered clubs the chance to win the goodie bag in a Twitter competition.

The bag contains a Team First Aid Kit, 40 Instant Ice Packs, one Ice Bag and one Kool Spray.

Tom O’Leary, first-team manager at Cockfield United, said: “It’s safe to say we have been very lucky when it comes to winning competitions off the pitch recently, having already won a new kit.

“We are absolutely delighted once more to be winning such a much-needed prize. As we are sure everyone is aware these are very challenging times for everyone including grassroots football clubs.

“We have expanded the football clubs Adult section to incorporate four sides this year by reforming our Sunday side and at a time where income has decreased and costs are going to increase, anything that can help to save costs on essential equipment, like a medical kit, is very warmly welcomed.

“As a club we think the Suffolk FA has done a great job throughout this ‘COVID period’ and we’d like to take this time to thank them. We have had great support and swift responses from them regarding a number of things; not least with helping us appoint a new Reserve Manager which was vital for the side’s ongoing future.

“It feels like there has been a real effort recently to engage more with the football community and as a club we are very grateful for the time being taken for that to happen.

“So to win this competition, which was available to everyone in Suffolk, is just the icing on the cake! Hopefully we can take this success onto the pitch now that we can return to football safely!”
