SIL sides to meet in cup semi-finals
CRANE Sports will meet fellow SIL side Coplestonians in the semi-finals for the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup on Friday .
The tie is taking place at Bloomfields, home of Needham Market FC, kick-off 7.45pm.
Coplestonians had a more than convincing 5-1 win in the quarter finals against Debenham LC to progress to the last four, before the competition was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Crane Sports defeated their higher-league opposition Leiston Reserves 3-0 in the quarter-finals.
Cranes narrowly missed out on winning the cup in the 2016-17 campaign, losing 2-1 to current holders Achilles in the final.
The second tie sees Henley Athletic face 2012-13 winners Ipswich Wanderers at Whitton United FC on Wednesday, September 16th, kick-off 7.45pm.
Henley came from behind, with a second-half goal, to secure their place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Ipswich Town Under-18s.
Ipswich Wanderers, meanwhile, beat SIL side Old Newton United 1-0 at their home ground.
