Haverhill stages Grassroots Festival
A TOTAL of 23 teams took part in the second KBB Suffolk FA Pre-Season Grassroots Festival.
The festival was staged at The New Croft in Haverhill, home of Haverhill Rovers FC, on Saturday morning.
The age of teams ranged from U7 to U11, who were rounding off their pre-season preparations for the 2021-22 season.
The majority of the pitches, apart from the first-team pitch, were used for the festival.
Suffolk FA Football Development Officer (Retention) James Morley, who organised the festival, said: “It was again great to see different teams take part in this festival at Haverhill on Saturday.
“By moving the festival to different areas of the county allows us the opportunity to engage with different teams from the one held at Kesgrave and potentially some teams who are from other counties.
“To carry on the momentum of the first festival on to the Haverhill was great and we enjoy being able to get out and deliver again following the many breaks over the last year-and-a-half.
“We felt having multiple festivals were a great way to bring people together again and see faces we might not have seen for a long time.
“There is one festival left in our series for the 2021-22 pre-season. We are now looking ahead to going to Kirkley & Pakefield FC and delivering our final grassroots festival and seeing even more teams finish off their preparations for the season ahead.”
