Young Lions head to Colchester in March
ENGLAND’S Young Lions will head to Colchester in March.
The MU20s will welcome Germany on Tuesday, March 29th (kick-off 7.30pm), four days after a trip to Poland.
Since the start of the 2021-22 season, Andy Edwards’ side have comfortably beaten Romania and Czech Republic, drawn with Italy and lost to Portugal. England's Lewis Bate (right) is pictured above celebrating a goal with James McAtee.
Edwards said: “I know Colchester is a venue that has served England teams well in the past with various men’s development and women’s fixtures having been staged there successfully.
“We look forward to returning to Essex with another exciting crop of Young Lions. As all England fans know, a fixture against Germany always stirs excitement and this occasion will be no different.”
Tim Waddington, Colchester United’s general manager, said: “It’s fantastic news that England are returning to the JobServe Community Stadium, and a real honour to host them once again.
“We have been blessed with football fans in Colchester and the surrounding areas wanting to support the England national sides here in the past, and we are expecting another bumper crowd to be cheering on Andy Edwards’ Young Lions this time round.”
