Repeat of Women's Cup Final is possible
THERE could be a repeat of last year’s final in the second round of this season’s MH Goals Suffolk Women’s Cup.
Needham Market will be at home to the winners of Sunday’s first-round tie between Brantham Athletic and holders AFC Sudbury.
Chantry Grasshoppers, Ipswich Wanderers and Kesgrave Kestrels have all unfortunately folded since the first-round draw was made, but as Suffolk County Cup rules state no team can receive two byes in a competition, all three teams were included in the draw and their respective opponents have been awarded a walkover victory.
Haverhill Rovers entertain Ipswich Valley Rangers in Sunday’s other remaining first-round tie, with the winners away to East Bergholt United in round two.
Pictured above are Kim Edwards, captain of Stowupland Falcons, and Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal, who made the draw.
