SUFFOLK County Cup Final Match Officials were honoured at a Celebration Evening.

The event was held at Henley Community Centre, just outside Ipswich, for officials to mark their appointments to this season’s 11 adult competitions.

More than 50 guests attended Friday’s Celebration Evening at which officials were presented with a Suffolk FA tie to recognise their appointment.

Suffolk FA Workforce Development Manager Alan Dale, who organised the evening, said: “Congratulations to you all.

“Firstly, you have been selected for you consistent performances throughout this season and, secondly for your commitment across the season.”

Daniel Meeson, The FA Head of Refereeing – Technical & Development, spoke about managing ‘The Big Occasion’ ahead of the officials’ participation in the finals.

Chay Hathway, Suffolk FA Level 3 Match Official & The FA Technical & Development Support Officer, delivered a session on ‘Getting to Know Your Team’ in preparation for the finals.

The evening marked Alan Dale’s last event after six years working for Suffolk FA, initially as Referee Development Officer.

He was presented with a framed referees’ shirt by Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal and Daniel Meeson presented him with  a glass memento on behalf of The FA.
