Big away-day win for Somersham Reserves
SOMERSHAM Reserves were the big winners in the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup on Saturday.
They won 5-0 away to Beccles Town ‘A’ in their re-arranged second-round tie – one of three to take place at the weekend.
Somersham Reserves will now be at home to AFC Whitton in the third round next month.
Walsham-le-Willows’ ‘A’ won 2-1 at Sporting 87 to earn a home tie against Lakenheath Casuals AFC, who edged past Occold 4-3 on penalties following a 3-3 draw.
Sporting 87 ‘A’ (navy shirts) are pictured above in action away to Kesgrave Kestrels Reserves (blue & white striped shirts) earlier this season.
The remaining three second-round fixtures, which were all postponed due to frozen pitches last month, will take place this coming Saturday.
The one outstanding second-round match in this season’s Veo Suffolk Boys’ Under-18 Midweek Cup is scheduled to take place on Thursday night when Cornard United host Beccles Town.
The winners will be at home to Kirkley & Pakefield in the quarter-finals in early March.
