Penalties settle U16 Youth Cup semi ties
BOTH Suffolk Boys’ Youth Cup Under-16 Semi-Finals went to a penalty shoot-out on Sunday.
Haverhill Rovers EJA won 5-4 following a 4-4 draw against Leiston EJA at Copleston High School, while Needham Market were 4-3 winners after a goalless draw versus Bury Town at Whitton United.
One of the Suffolk Boys’ Under-16 Plate semi-finals also went to penalties, with Moreton Hall progressing 9-8 on spot kicks following a 2-2 draw with Capel Plough.
This came after Moreton Hall beat Bury Town Colts 10-9 on penalties after a 2-2 draw the previous weekend in the Suffolk Boys’ Under-14 Plate competition!
Fixtures were staged on Sunday across the two venues as the remaining dozen semi-finals were completed.
The winning teams will now take part in the Suffolk Youth Cup Finals at The New Croft in Haverhill on Sunday, May 14th.
