Mixed Youth cups take centre stage
THE Suffolk Youth County Cup competitions resume this weekend.
There are just two adult fixtures in the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup, one of which was scheduled for last weekend.
The second-round tie between Boxford Rovers and Bacton United 89 Reserves was postponed as the pitch at Boxford was not fit.
Under county cup rules, with the fixture having been postponed twice, Bacton United 89 will now have home advantage.
The other tie is the third-round meeting between Kirton Athletic Reserves and Beccles Town ‘A’, who both won their re-arranged second-round ties last Saturday.
Kirton Athletic Reserves saw off AFC Oulton Reserves 3-1, while Beccles Town ‘A’ ran out 4-0 winners at Pakefield Dynamos.
On Sunday, it’s the turn of the Portable Space Suffolk Mixed Cups to take centre stage.
There are eight ties scheduled in the third rounds of both the Under-12 and Under-13 competitions, with all the sides aiming to book a place in this season’s quarter-final draws.
Leiston (blue shirts) are pictured above during their 3-1 victory versus Bury Town (red shirts) in last season’s Mixed U13 Cup Final at The New Croft in Haverhill. Leiston travel to Waveney Tigers in Sunday’s third-round fixture.
