FC Copenbadly are crowned champions
FC COPENBADLY have been crowned the champions of this season’s Suffolk Sixes sponsored by McDonald’s.
They were presented with the trophy by Evan Lugo, a member of the management team at McDonald’s in Stowmarket, after the final round of matches on Wednesday evening.
The sixth and last Wednesday night session of the popular six-a-side female competition was delayed a week due to England’s participation in the Euro 2024 Semi-Final.
It meant that the matches were switched from Copleston Sports Centre in Ipswich to the 3G pitch at Needham Market FC.

FC Copenbadly, who had led the tournament from the opening night when they won all four of their matches, remained undefeated until their very last game.
They lost 1-0 to Liqourice Allsports in their 24th and final match, after winning the previous 23, to give them 69 points out of a possible 72.
It is the fourth time that the team, who last year played under the guise of Largentina, have won the competition.
Captain Flo Harvey said afterwards: “It was very disappointing to lose our last game, but we should not reflect on that. We are proud of the fact that we went 23 games unbeaten.
“It has been a lot of fun for us to play in the tournament as we don’t all play regularly together now as some of us have retired.”
In addition to the winners’ shield, FC Copenbadly received £100 worth of restaurant vouchers to spend.
Runners-up were The Legends, who won 17, drew three and lost four of their 24 games to end on 55 points, with Needham Market third one point behind.
