FC Copenbadly cope well in Sixes event
IT’S already tight at the top of the table in this season’s Suffolk Sixes sponsored by McDonald’s.
The popular six-a-side female tournament returned on Wednesday for the 2024 edition, with all 13 teams in action on the opening night.
FC Copenbadly, who won last year’s competition playing as Largentina, won all four of their matches to earn a maximum 12 points and so take an early lead in the standings.
Joint second are Needham Market FC and The Legends, whose side comprises former Ipswich Wanderers FC players, who both have ten points after four games.

Both teams won three times on Wednesday in addition to playing out a goalless draw against each other at Copleston Sports Centre in Ipswich.
Just behind them come Liqourice Allsports, whose squad is made up of players from Ipswich Vale Exiles FC, on nine points after they won three and lost one of their four matches.

Suffolk FA Women & Girls’ Football Development Officer Isabel Chaplin said: “It was a very successful first night to this year’s Suffolk Sixes, with more teams involved than last year.
“It is already shaping up to be a very competitive tournament once again.”
The tournament was originally scheduled to take place over five Wednesday evenings, but due to the increased number of entries has now been extended by a week and will finish on July 10th.
